I know we can travel to Puerto Rico with any US state ID or DL.

The inquiry is if we can return to the US from Puerto Rico with just our US state ID/DL?
Or do we need a passport? The EAD will be of no use since it states "not valid for re-entry to the US"

Anyone know for sure?

If you are not a citizen or permanent resident, you must carry your passport with you. Might as well. Better safe than sorry. If somebody gives you shit, slap the EAD on their face and point out, preferably kindly, the part in your EAD which says (C)(33). Most likely they will be oblivious so go ahead and explain to them fully what that means.

What good would a foreign passport do? They are going to ask for the visa.

Now thats not a question anyone here can answer. The logic is simple. You're not a U.S. national. Its funny I just looked this thing up literally minutes before I saw this thread and it says only legal aliens and citizens aren't required to have their passports. Legal residents must have their green card with them, but passport not required. I really don't think we're considered legal yet.

Wondering the same.

What does c33 exactly mean again? Pardon my ignorance.

Slap, Kindly
..... With confidence of what you are doing, perhaps?

It's a territory not a state. You will be asked for a visa if you're not a citizen. Consider yourself deported. Lol its like going to Tijuana, México and trying to come back in with your ead.

The ead allows you to be IN the USA. But like you said, it won't let you re-enter it.

You do know our EAD states "not valid for re-entry to the US"

and C33 means deferred action, not legal presence of any sort nor authorization to travel abroad.

I am asking about Puerto Rico since it is a US territory and wondering if only the US ID/DL would be suffice to return to the US.
