I have a couple of friends writing affidavits, but I'm not sure what to tell them in terms of instructions. I've read some tutorials online, but what specifically should I tell them to include? The format and information that needs to be included is completely baffling me.

Wow that is nice and clean. Did you write this yourself? I would use mediafire to upload that pdf. Its not letting me download it off that website.

Also whats a notary public? The paralegal helping me out said that only the person writing the affidavit and myself should sign the document.

Okay, I uploaded it to mediafire, let me know if you are able to download it.

I didn't write the affidavit myself but I tweaked it a bit.

A Notary public would verify that the person who is supposedly writing the affidavit is in fact that person. The Notary would probably ask to see an ID, then they would put their stamp on the paper certifying that the information is correct.

I was able to download the file no problem. I will print it out and give it out to the people writing me letters. I appreciate the help. Thank you.

I am getting my friend to do one for me as well, I was wondering does she need to put her DL#/address/contact# anywhere in the letter?

I used Affidavits in addition to my other evidences that I submitted for EACH of the five years as proof of continuous residence, and I was approved. It would be great if your friend could include a copy of her DL to her Affidavit for you. Also, she should definitely include her address as well in the letter and state how she knows you and how long she's known you. I hope this helps, ask or pm me if you have any other questions. All the best!
