reaching out to "the other side"

This is Daniel, a PhD student from the University of Michigan School of Information. Our team is funded by NSF to study how to encourage people read a diverse set of opinions to decrease fragmentation/polarization (http://balance.projects.si.umich.edu/). Right now we are exploring an idea of engaging ordinary people from different political sides in a one-on-one online conversation to learn from each other and get convinced.
