It's normal. I got the following updates,
(Updates in order)

Work authorization updates:

Your Case Status: Post Decision Activity
On November 6, 2012, we mailed you a notice that we have approved this I765 APPLICATION FOR EMPLOYMENT AUTHORIZATION. Please follow any instructions on the notice. If you move before you receive the notice, call customer service at 1-800-375-5283.

Then another one:
Your Case Status: Card/ Document Production
On November 6, 2012, we ordered production of your new card. Please allow 30 days for your card to be mailed to you. If we need something from you we will contact you. If you move before you receive the card, call customer service at 1-800-375-5283

And the last one:
Your Case Status: Card/ Document Production
On November 8, 2012, we mailed the new card directly to the address we have on file. You should receive your new card within 30 days. If you do not, or if you move before you get it, call customer service at 1-800-375-5283.

The only update I got for DACA was:

Application Type: I821D , Consideration of Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals
Your Case Status: Post Decision Activity
On November 6, 2012, we mailed you a notice that we have approved this I821D Consideration of Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals. Please follow any instructions on the notice. If you move before you receive the notice, call customer service at 1-800-375-5283.

Any idea than why the discrepancy among different DACA applicants? Are they discrimnating by age, education, or any other factors? I thought they were going by where the applicant lives and how many applications they've received from that region. But I'm starting to think that the individual case officers are simply slacking off from doing their work.

you'll get DACA in the coming days. I got it the day after EAD

Although you're allowed to travel as long ad you have a valid form of ID, a lawyer once told me anytime you're on public transportation, you put yourself at risk of being asked for papers. Not only that, but if you decide to drive across state lines, although many don't have checkpoints, many do. And their specifically for immigration checks. I've seen some even across across county lines, within the state. You just have to be careful

No idea. They should be going simply by acceptance date of application, but we have proof they aren't and I haven't been able to see any pattern.
