Haha, no. They just say that so people can stop calling. I got mine in three days. I say within a week, assuming no outside circumstances.

OMG!! I just got a text!! My work authorization was approved. It was the last thing I expected today. Ha ha, they are right, it comes when you least expect it. I did not even have this on my mind today. Wow.
On November 8, 2012, we ordered production of your new card. Please allow 30 days for your card to be mailed to you. If we need something from you we will contact you. If you move before you receive the card, call customer service at 1-800-375-5283.

Hello all,

Just contacted USCIS to have my case expedited since I was affected by hurricane Sandy. More information could be found at:

I basically explained that my case has been pending well over the normal period and I was concerned. The lady I spoke to was kind and took my information down. When she was finished, I was given a referral id number and told that she has sent out a request to have my case expedited.

Service center is Vermont. LUD is 8/24/2012. Walk in bio was done on 9/20/2012. Original scheduled biometric date was 9/25/2012. It has been about 80 days since my application was received and 50 since my walk in biometrics. I am from New Jersey and overstayed a B2 since 1994. Other information could be found in my signature.

Oh I already have one and a license and all that. I'll just need to update my license. Gonna start working on a resume.

I got my approval by text message today also! And yeah you get it when you least expect it.

I got my card today! It went into production Friday the 2nd.
Mailed out the 6th, got it the 8th. Yay!
