According to exit polls, Obama got 71% of Latino votes, while Romney got 27%. I know 71% is really high, but compare that with Black votes of 93% for Obama.

I have a 2nd generation Latino coworker, and he is an ardent Republican. He is so dedicated that he got pictures with Republican senators and a signed thank-you note from Bush. It's easy for me to see why he's Republican; he's a very dedicated Catholic.

This 27% of Latinos who voted Romney, do you think it's a simple matter of religion, or there's something else that I miss? It's a considerable number, more than 1 out of 4 Latinos voted for Romney.

Let's keep it respectful so we have a meaningful discussion, please.

Cuban voters tilted the scale towards Romney a little, that might be why.

Cubans are not a very large part of the Latino electorate. They only really matter in Florida, and Florida didn't even matter in this election

A lot of Latinos are very fiscally/socially conservative. Those 27% who voted for Romney probably could give two shits about undocs/immigration isn't a priority. If the republican party was more sensical in its immigration policies that number is probably closer to 60D/40R among Latinos. but the majority of Republicans in current Congress are really that stupid regarding immigration and have pushed Latinos who do see immigration policies as important to the left.

I know some Hispanics who didn't vote for him because they say Obama did "nothing" on CIR. So you're going to vote Republican? Brilliant.

I have a USC cousin who's probably past his 40's. he voted Romney out of complete and utter ignorance. He also stated that all illegals should be deported. He barely knows how to write properly in Spanish, let alone English. As scary as this is to think, I'm sure he's not the only person who is this ignorant and closed minded.

I read somewhere that the population of Puerto Ricans is growing in Florida, to the point where their votes for Democrats just about balanced Cuban Republican ones. If Republicans can't even rely on Cuban numbers in Florida anymore, they really are in trouble.

Lol Cubans make me laugh. I almost got in a fight with one but he pussed out. Most of them are lucky garbage. They come from a shitty communist country and they act like if they are all high Americans. There are some Cubans that are nice though, one went to Mexico and then came to the US but left to Mexico again. He said Mexico was better.

Only 71%? He beat his record breaking '08 numbers among Latinos. How can you justify saying only?
