Got My EAD now what?

There's nothing that came with my EAD that explains what I do next.

I'm assuming I can apply for a new social security card now? Do I have to wait a certain number of days or anything, I thought I read somewhere on here we have to wait a while.

People have been applying before the 10 day wait and getting theirs shortly after but supposedly its also possible that your request will take longer if you do it before that.

I hate to be that person but it takes like one second to search that...

Trust me I did, the search function suck on most forums. I put 'EAD' on the search bar and it said no posts were found..surrrrre no mention of EADs were found lol.

I don't think EADs come with instruction manuals.

Ill try looking around on the USCIS site then.

Apply for your SSN, DL/ID, JOBS,

Is there a waiting time or is that just a rumor? I'll go tomorrow if its a rumor.

I got my EAD today too and I am going to my local social security tomorrow morning. I did not wait the 10 days and also there are 10+ threads here to help you answer your questions

I got my EAD yesterday and went to social security administration today. They said they I should get my new card in the mail in 7-10 days and gave me a receipt/printout. Earlier in this still new process it seems like SSA was making people wait but more and more I see people going in ASAP and it doesn't seem to be a problem.

Thanks tinachow! I'll try going tomorrow. Do we just need our EAD and identification like our passport?
