You know, I know I'm in the minority here, but I really could care less about the "temporary" on my license. None of my friends ever noticed and even when they were looking directly at my DL, no one ever said a word. I had one random mall cashier ask me about it once, and that was mildly embarrassing, but I'd rather take that than the staredowns I get when I show a passport...I have never had ANY luck showing an expired DL at clubs or bars or even restaurants when I order a drink. It could be because I look really young for my age, and I look substantially different now than I did in my old DL, but it was always a no go. I started carrying around my passport because even showing that bulky thing was better than the alternative. My DL took exactly 8 days to get to my house  . Get in line, woman! |
