so my name is

A B C

in reality B C is my last name

however, in America schools have assumed B to be my middle name and C my last name

I wrote all this down when I submitted my aps

Official name: A first, blank middle, B C last
Other names used: A first, B middle, C last

Do you think this will be a problem?

It's like those German names for example Schmidt-Meyer.

Two names combined into one last name.

Except in Brazil we (often) combine two last names not with a - but with the word "e", which is my case. Sometimes we use "de/da".

I hate it. I'm gonna drop one when I'm legal.

I completed two applications. One for my brother and myself. I did mine first so I had my biometrics on Oct 1st. My brother's was on Oct 17th.

He just got approved and received approval notifications in the mail. I am happy for him, but how the heck did he get approved so early? I didn't get approved yet.

You should get online that your EAD was shipped, my brother EAD was shipped on Nov 8 and right now i went to the mail at 4:29 pm and saw two letters on mail. One was EAD and the other 821D. So it took two days to arrive. he did his bio on Oct3 (NO walk-in).

i on the other hand waiting!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! come on Nebraska!!!

FBI Name Checks—FBI name checks are also required for many applications. The FBI name check is totally different from the FBI fingerprint check. The records maintained in the FBI name check process consist of administrative, applicant, criminal, personnel and other files compiled by law enforcement. Initial responses to this check generally take about two weeks. In about 80 percent of the cases, no match is found. Of the remaining 20 percent, most are resolved within six months. Less than one percent of cases subject to an FBI name check remain pending longer than six months. Some of these cases involve complex, highly sensitive information and cannot be resolved quickly. Even after FBI has provided an initial response to USCIS concerning a match, the name check is not complete until full information is obtained and eligibility issues arising from it are resolved.

There are reportedly an alarming number of false hits caused by similar or identical or very similar names, or errors, inconsistencies or discrepencies in listed names in official documents. This is true especially in countries, such as the Latin countries, where there are only a few surnames and name-similarity is common, or record-keeping accuracy in official documents is dubious. Reportedly, approximately half of all names in the NCIC database are Latino, and this has resulted in a high number of false hits for individuals with common or very similar last names at Consulates in the Latin countries. Applicants presently are not allowed the opportunity to prove that they are not the same person as that on the database, nor is there a way to initiate security checking in advance of the visa application.

Even if you are not Latino/Hispanic, the same could be true if your country is one where there are a lot of people with similar or the same last names. So, I doubt it has anything to do with people who did walk-ins. They just happen to be in that 80% where nothing comes back on their name.
Well this definitely shines some new light on the subject. Thanks!

Someone mentioned that Vermont was underemployed already, plus the number of applications that are pouring in are taking off focus from the actual applications is my best guess. Regardless, I'm gonna call on Tuesday since it's going to be 85 days since they first received/processed my application.

It's kinda ridiculous because I have 0 criminal record, submitted very minimal strong evidence, have been a great student my entire life, and I'm in college. I just want to move on with my fucking life.
