Please, please no need to jump down my throat if I am completely wrong in assuming this but are we considered permanent residents after we get our ss number?

I've officially started the college app process and for one of the schools I am applying to, it says under the field for the ss number: Required for financial aid processing. U.S. citizens and permanent residents only.

Should I wait until I receive my ss number and then just simply bullet the NOT a citizen option or should I avoid filling out my ss number altogether?

OH and if they're any other hs seniors on this site.... message me!! We can help each other out in this process. It's so fucking intimidating and stressful like not only am I going to go through all of this anxiety trying to fill out the paperwork and hoping I get accepted, I also have to worry about paying for it if I do get accepted. UGH. PA WHY U NO PASS THE DREAM ACT FOR?

I was a senior last year and no, you will not be considered a permanent resident after you got your SS. You will check the box saying you aren't a citizen but have lawful presence. Good luck with your application!
