Sorry I didn't reply sooner! Yeah I thought it was going to be 4 years, since the max length for any PA DL. I also applied for my ID and I'm waiting for the real one to come in the mail. I paid for full price for that one, so hopefully that's a 4 year one! The permit test was easy. I read the drivers manual and did all the question after each chapter. They're are basically the same. It probably took me like five minutes to take, and that's because I took my time lol! And as for the doctors check up, you need to bring it signed when you go apply for your permit/DL. Then after you pass you can schedule for your driving test which will be about 6 weeks.. Or you can do this: call your local DMV daily and see if someone cancelled their appointment, then they will let you come in and take your test. Best of luck to you!

Thank you so much for the reply. My SS card arrived yesterday (Saturday) so this Monday I'll try to have the check up from my doctor and maybe on Tuesday I can apply for permit and State ID.

is it 2 years or 4 years??

OMG don't have insurance yet how will I go about this medical section of the application, and can you hold a DL AND ID BOTH AT THE SAME TIME
