Hey guys kinda new here and with a few questions... I was brought here at 6 years of age in hopes of a new and better life than that experienced in Mexico. I definitely can't complain, I have had a great life and my undocumented status hasn't had any major impacts on my life so far (other than college).

I am already scheduled through deffered action for my biometrics appointment for on this 6th of December. The thing is,though, I only have my school ID, on top of my birth certificate. Do they accept these? The schedule for my passport is the 10th of December. I hope they understand that we don't have many other choices of identification, since we are undocumented.

Will the schedule have to be postponed? Or should I risk the school ID?

As far as I know, a school ID is not sufficient because they usually do not have a date of birth on them AND they're not state-issued ID. Do you have a passport from Mexico? Because that will be sufficient along with your birth certificate.

If no one else can suggest anything for you, I highly suggest you make an appointment with a Mexican consulate office and find out how you can obtain a passport as soon as possible because you must appear to your appointment date. You'll need the passport eventually so it won't be a complete waste of money just for this process.

Hope someone else can suggest something better for you, but that's my suggestion to you.

The passport is going to be the best means of ID. If you do not already have one " make an appointment with a Mexican consulate office and find out how you can obtain a passport as soon as possible because you must appear to your appointment date"

try to call the consulate again to try to get an earlier date/appointment, because from what I've heard you are gonna need you're passport for the biometrics.

And welcome to the forum Good luck!

you can always call the mexican consulate and make an appt idk how faster they do this but the one here in cali do this thing called "consulado sobre ruedas" they go to different towns issuing passports and ids. They can issue you an ID you will need your school id's and hs diploma along with your birth certificate, i got mine in dec 2010and it expires in dec 2015 it was around 27 bucks

It depends. I only went in with my school ID and didn't have a problem. I couldn't get my passport on time because my appointment was two hours after my biometrics. I called to try to get an earlier appointment but was told I would have to wait until next year. I was so nervous but I prayed and everything went smoothly. Thank God.
I would suggest going as soon as possible to where your biometrics is scheduled and asking if your school ID is fine. If they say no, call the mexican consulate and tell them it's an emergency or just go without an appointment and show them your biometrics letter. I know a couple of people that did that and were fine. They had to wait for a couple of hours but got their passport and or matricula. I'm not saying this will work at every place but trying is better than nothing.
