How did you approach the walk-in? What excuse did you use?

I sent my application on 11/03/2012
It was received on 11/05/2012 according to USPS tracking
11/13/2012 I recieved a letter from the USCIS California service center telling me they have received my application. Another letter telling me that they have received full payment & that the next step will be my biometrics and I should be receiving a letter regarding that
11/15/2012 I received my biometrics letter and I have my appt on Dec 4th 2012.
11/16/2012 I walked in and did my biometrics today!
