I go hardcore. I abstain from everything except water. I went 13 daqys doing that, and I personally would not recommend it for just anyone.

However, I do think it helps you to connect spiritually, to know how it feels to NEED something, and to restart with a fresh outlook.

My church did the Daniel Fast which consists of no animal products, breads, etc. for 21 days. We were only allowed fruits, veggies and water. I can't really do full fasting since I run and lift weights 5x a week.

I tried a water fast. I did it for three days. It was ok; i didnt really gain anything from it.

I also did intermittent fasting--usually a 18 hour fast-- for about 60 days. I did it to try improve my insulin sensitivity and get leaner. It got pretty annoying after awhile and i didnt really see any fat loss from it so i quit.

Lol. Yeah that's what I meant. WHOOPSIES. I am just amazed that we can't feel the hunger at all while fasting during Ramadan, but if I fast any other day, I am hungry all day.

That's right its amazing that before I ever tried it I thought about fainting and all types of things would happen to me but it's actually easier than it sound I guess due to divine help. Dry fasting means NOTHING GOES IN YOUR MOUTH FROM SUN UP TO SUNDOWN. The past ramadan was like a 17 hour fast for 30 days, and it helped me not be wasteful cuz I think of less fortunate people that don't have a choice and have to "fast" due to lack of food.
