This applies only to F-1 visa holders (international students), and probably J-1 (international exchange visitors). You can't change into F-1 status because you don't have legal status / valid visa.

Senate Democrats should force a compromise to the STEM bill to include DACA applicants.

I wonder what they mean by STEM, particularly the Math section.

Right now I'm pursuing a bachelors in Economics and a masters in Econometrics. This is a very math intensive field, in fact I've taken/will take more math courses in my Economics undergrad than many Engineering majors. I wonder if I would qualify as an STEM major or if the math section is strictly for the Applied and Pure Math folks.

Or make the wait time move faster.

CIR would eliminate the backlog right?

Don't even worry about it right now, because we are not eligible for STEM as it is right now.

THey really need to raise the family catagories. Waiting 15 years for a sibling's legal petition to kick in is way too long.

It can also move faster but I agree.

Democrats should agree on this only if deferred action beneficiaries can apply
