Okay Thanks got it. Also, what is this print out everybody talks about? Is it the letter that shows you have filed for SSN?

no thats just your receipt after you apply they give you that paper that confirms you applied for a social security card and it has your name, date and office you applied at. you should ask when can you go back for a printout so hopefully they'll give you a pass so you dont have to wait in line again. they dont have your social security number because that takes time. i was told to wait 48 hrs before going to get a printout thats a paper that has your actual social security number.

They update them every once in a while to make it harder for fraud.

Just how they change Driver Licenses every once in a while and suchhhh

I applied for my SSN back in 10/18/12. originally I was told 3-4 weeks since there was a pending verification w immigration. It's been 6 weeks since I applied. I called the ss office this morning and the lady who answered said it had been to long and that she was going to double check w/ her supervisor. After being on hold for 15mins I was told I needed to go in and apply again !!! I was told to bring in my work permit, valid ID, birth cert and application. I will go tomorrow since I am at work today. I just feel aggravated at the fact that I was given the run around for six weeks!!!

For you guys who went to get their # after 2 days of filling what did you guys press on the screen when you first entered the SSA office? I only remember the 'get new card' option.

I applied yesterday, and i asked the guy who did my application if i can get a print out as soon as i get provided with a number, he said unfortunately i cant get a print out.

My question is do i try askin someone else from ssa & maybe get lucky with them or they'll all have same answers. Lol.

I think I remember clicking new card, was that a mistake?
