My application was received on 8/27 Vermont service center and I got my biometrics done on 9/19 (the official appointed date) and I'm STILL waiting.
Both I765 and I821D have been on the "initial review" state since I completed my biometrics.
I have no violation records or anything that can hurt me but I'm starting to worry that I might get denied because there are people who didn't even take a month to get approved. Is it normal to take this long to get approved? This is affecting me so much, I haven't been able to sleep right for the past few weeks!
I'm thinking of calling the service center but what should I say? Can I just call them and say like "Hi I'm calling to ask about the process of my case"? Can I do that?
You guys are worrying for no reason. We haven't had one denial yet in the forum. I don't even know if they are denying anyone unless it's a security concern. Just sit tight and wait. You have waited so many years, just a couple weeks or so won't hurt. Stop checking every day. The people that were approved in 28 days or whatever, were definitely rare cases.

You and I have the same dates. I called them and asked them that, they won't be able to give an answer. They will do what they did with me, file a case to see what's going on with the case. So it's been 5 days since I called. it's been 93 days since my application was received.

I'm also feeling that way, that it will be denied for no reason. I have a clean record, been educated here since the 3rd grade to Bachelors. There shouldn't be a reason to deny my case or anyone's unless they have a criminal record.

I did a walk-in for my biometrics on 11/21/2012 (the appointment was for 12/12/2012) however I received another ASC appointment notice today (notice sent date 11/22/2012 - that's one day after I had my biometrics walk-in) saying the date and time of appointment is 12/20/2012. It is different from the first appointment letter I received because it does not have the two barcodes in the bottom (for I821D and I765), it doesn't have the application number either, but it does have a TCR number (which I googled and it meant transmission control request for uscis) on the letter. Has this happened to anyone here before? Should I still go on the 20th for another fingerprint? Also I noticed some people have been checking their status using "lin#", but i have not been able to find that in any of my receipts, can anyone help me with that also? Thank you in advance!
so I went back to the biometrics center with my second letter today and they asked me to do another fingerprint. when I asked the technician why did I have to do another set she told me "because the lines on your fingers are too close together". well anyway, i guess I should start waiting patiently for my approval to come

I have the EXACT same timeline as you.
I'm noticing that as well. I just wonder why our block is so far behind when it comes to getting approved.
