will we be able to collect benefits at the old age as long as we keep put money in our

SS number is yours for life. It does not expire.

Until our status changes from "unlawful" to "lawful," i think benefits wont be an option for us.

Your life is just starting. Forget about getting old...lets go out and party. You're thinking too much into this. You will get your benefits don't worry. For now..make use of your natural strength that you are blessed with as a young person and create your own benefits! Social Security Number is yours for life.

Well there's no shame in wanting to secure your future. If anything it is smart to plan ahead and make it easier for yourself in the long run. I think his/her question is a valid worry within our age range.

And while I agree that we should enjoy our life while we are young, I would be careful with the partying at this point. Daca and the ead can be easily taken away due to various misdemeanors. Have fun but don't make dumb decisions that will impact this huge opportunity.

Highly doubtful dude. If nothing happens in the future and they take pity on us they may give us a break (like they did with DACA), but for now we are gonna be throwing money into a pool that we (as it currently stands) cannot collect when its time. Until we are legal, we get no benefits. In other words...NO SOUP FOR U!

No, in order to collect benefits you have to be a citizen or a permanent resident. And even if we were, chances are SS will be bankrupt by the time we reach old age. I suggest seeking financial advise as to what to do to start saving for old age (or disability) and contrary to popular thought, it's never too early to start planning. The sooner you start, the better.
