Only reason I was able to go straight to a license was because I had my home country's license so I had proof or prior driving experience. I had to pass the knowledge and driving test tho first. All I took was my school ID SS CARD AND EAD

Ok nice! Well you see I'm only 17 so I will have to get a permit. So I all I need is a school ID, SS Card, and EAD. Do I need proof of residency bills or papers?

Your school ID is your proof of residency. & take a report card or progress report just I'm case ! But make sure to go to one of the 16 offices in our state that accepts 'international customers' cause we are not allowed to go to just any DMV. And yea I'm 19 we have connection down in my beautiful country of Colombia so I was able to pull strings and get that DL

Ok thanks I will. I just looked them up and I found that I can go to the one in Seneca or Greenville since they are the closest. I can't pull any strings...lol. I'm just waiting for the EAD to come in the mail! Then I will get the SS and eventually my driving permit and then license. I have a question though. If my parents don't have a license from here will I still be able to get a license permit?
