From Phoenix also and to recap,

to get a CA license, you need a few days to both tests, a CA address for them to mail you your permanent DL, maybe a utility bill, but really your SSN and permit? has anyone done it not from CA?

So California mails out your Drivers licence or permit? if thats the case how long does that take?

We are going to have to be discrete if we are going to go to Blythe for this. Tell them you are staying in Blythe for a bit, if asked. I called the DMV and asked if I can actually give them a San Jose address*to*the Blythe location, and she said yes.

Did you make an appointment already?
I was thinking I would go to LA, closer to the address I'm using. So they won't ask for a utility bill or something with my name on it.
