A system where the cases are put in a chronological order and as the agents approve them, they pick the next one in line seems fair.
They're using an electronic system. So, the files are not really "on their desk". The "as they come in" part is about biometrics. Just because Person A sent their application in before Person B, does not mean Person A will be approved before Person B. If Person B's background check is clear and Person A's needs further investigation, then it's likely that Person B will receive an approval notice before A, despite who applied first.

Think about it this way. The adjudicator waits until Person A's case file is complete, but has had at least 100 other cases that were complete for 6 weeks. That creates a backlog and longer wait times for people who have a complete case file. So, yes, while they were waiting for the all clear on Person A, Persons B, etc. were approved.

USCIS doesn't typically provide status updates along the way. It's just pretty much wait and you'll hear back from them. It took them 2 years to send my mother an RFE for our I-130. And it took six months to get an approval after that.

I do agree, that they could have done a better job explaining how long each step could take. And you should be able to get more specific information on your case. We shouldn't have to call and get the same script. If there's a problem, you should be able to find out.

I emailed service center and three weeks later I received this response...
"Good afternoon,

Based on your request we researched the status of your cases. We are actively processing your cases. However, we have to perform additional review on the cases and this has caused a longer processing time. If you have not received a decision or other notice of action on the cases within 60 days from the date of this message, please contact us for updates.

The National Customer Service Center's toll free number is 1-800-375-5283 or you may access the USCIS website at www.uscis.gov should you have any further questions or need additional information

Regards,
USCIS Nebraska Service Center"

August & Sept. Applicants still waiting, is either because of Walk-in biometrics or human mistake period.

1. In my case my EAD was not sent to me because of human mistake as explained to me by a uscis officer at an info pass appoinment. My applications were approved withing a week of bio-metrics taken the day scheduled.

2. Even if they suggest not to make an infopass for daca I suggest to do it. Try! it wont hurt in anyway. Make up a story and get an answer. Im sure you'll find a nice teller to help. Explain your situation and make them tell you something or schedule a request at uscis office.

3. USCIS workers over the phone are like machines, they read what they see on their screens. That's their job! most wont do anything to help. As shown by "ricardocampos16" show some authority and get some answers!! don't wait around!!! go and find alternatives!

If walk-ins were the problems, USCIS would not allow walk-ins at any Application Support Center for DACA applicants.

I don't think it has to do with walk-ins, tho. I did mine on the scheduled date and haven't been approved while tons of people have walked in and have their EADs. But I agree that human error could be a reason.

Whatever the reason, being proactive on your case is positive. I will do an infopass 10 days from today depending on the response to my DHS-7001.

I read that service requests and infopass appointments help if it comes to filing a Writ of Mandamus against USCIS, as you have to prove that you have exhausted all other options of having them process your case. Hope it doesn't come to that tho.

Then why is it that 70% of apps that have not been approve have a w/walk in?

There is a time frame that the cycle is supposed to take. I am aware that its not working since applications are all over the place. It makes sence that they do appoinments for a reason. No its not to control people lining up at uscis bio's office but to control the flow of biometrics coming in. The agents handle a certain quote. This is were human mistakes come in. They feel overwhelmed with the extra bio's they need to approve. They might skip a few, There are no computer reminders on their system telling them "this application is ready with biomentrics"

Apps are hard paper files not computerized files! This is why their system is not very efficient with all the applications coming in.

There you go. It's common sense. Most walk-in individuals were approved even before their scheduled biometrics date. I don't know why some people are in such denial about walk-ins affecting the system.

That's the best way to look & take care of your case. You did a request, heck you can even do the info pass if you like. I was doing 3 different things at the same time. Constent calls, Request over the phone & info pass appointments every two weeks.

The positive side is that we'll all be approved one day or another. Patience is important but if you want it faster you'll find a way to deal with it!

You're about to exhaust every option, before the expected processing time is over lol
