Could be. But I'll tell you one thing... when I reach the 6 month mark + 1 day, I will be filing a writ of mandamus against them. While you might be still sitting there with your arms crossed... waiting.

When you want something, you go after it. U just don't sit there and wait for other people to do it for you.

I don't mean to be a douche but why are you adding your opinions as if it was facts? where do you get the 70% from?
"August & Sept. Applicants still waiting, is either because of Walk-in biometrics or human mistake period. "
What information do you have to justify this?

This is very misleading information and it needs to be reworded. Unless you did have some insider information that backs up what you're saying

There is a time frame that the cycle is supposed to take. I am aware that its not working since applications are all over the place. It makes sence that they do appoinments for a reason. No its not to control people lining up at uscis bio's office but to control the flow of biometrics coming in. The agents handle a certain quote. This is were human mistakes come in. They feel overwhelmed with the extra bio's they need to approve. They might skip a few, There are no computer reminders on their system telling them "this application is ready with biomentrics"

Apps are hard paper files not computerized files! This is why their system is not very efficient with all the applications coming in.
70%? Do you mean 70% of DAP members that applied or 70% of all applicants?

This was taken from the Lockbox Intake Processing Questions and Answers found here. So, unless USCIS is providing incorrect information about how they operate, I'm going to assume they are no longer shuffling paper.
What is the step-by-step intake process that occurs once a petition is received at a Lockbox Facility?

The Lockbox Service provider performs the following activities when processing incoming applications:
  • Receive, open, sort and stage mail.
  • Prepare and scan documents.
  • Enter document data in system from scanned images.
  • Accept or reject applications and related fees based on business rules.
  • Balance applications and fees.
  • Deposit payments to the U.S. Treasury
  • Send receipt notices for accepted applications to the applicant and designated representative.
  • Return rejected applications to the applicant or designated representative.
  • Transmit application data to USCIS and payment data to U.S. Department of Treasury.

I sent an email more than one month ago and finally got a reply today.

Quote:
USCIS electronic records reflect that on 8-20-12, USCIS received your I-821D and I-765 referenced in your e-mail below. USCIS electronic records do reflect receipt of biometrics for that I-821D and I-765. However, to date final action has not been taken on either that I-821D or that I-765. Please note that the current estimated processing time for an I-821D at the NSC is 6 months. Therefore, please allow up to 6 months from 8-20-12, for the processing of your I-821D. Action should be taken on your I-765 within 90 days of final action being taken on your I-821D.
So, do you guys think they have my biometrics result already?

An infopass is an appointment at a local USCIS office. You make the infopass appointment online and go there in person when there's a problem with your case.

Lol. Suing USCIS, you do that.....

Too bad the service request you filed was pre-mature. There are steps that need to be followed if you want to file a "Writ of Mandamus" You are trying to fast forward everything. They have already responded to your case, they said WAIT. They are not neglecting you. You can't file a Mandamus if they are still working on your case, hell you can't file one surely a day after the processing time is over.

After 6 months, you can start the long process of inquiring about your case, like service request, fax inquiry, etc.. Then, maybe several months after that, a Writ of Mandamus.

You guys make me laugh everytime i get on here. Last year we didn't have nothing to look foward to, but now we have DACA. Six months aren't going to kill you. Go do some volunteer work or something.

I hit today the 90 day mark from the day they received my application but apparently this 90 day mark is applicable if you've been approved for DACA first, and USCIS has 90 days to respond back to you about EAD. Be patient people, when I get approved or not, you will all know
Application sent: 8/31/12
Application received: 9/4/12
Biometrics :10/1/12 (no walk-in)
EAD: PENDING
DACA: PENDING

arguing on here is not helping you, you'll soon be approved! you'll see.. i'll give you one thing you have made it clear to us you are very determined on receiving you EAD! which you will soon enough!! but no one really knows how DACA process works just hang in there!

FYI.. a close friend of mine filled after me.. as soon as she got her bios letter i told her to do a walk in.. she mentioned a friend of here actually worked at a USCIS office and suggested not to do a walk in, that the offices (lockbox) have messed up on the A#.. i still can't understand what she ment.. i though we were going off receipt#..
