Rep. Luis Gutierrez (D-Ill.) said Wednesday that Paul Ryan had reached across the aisle to work with him on immigration reform and added that the Wisconsin Republican told him, “I want to do it because it’s the right thing.”
“I saw my good friend just coming off running for vice president of the United States, Congressman Ryan, we’re going to see each other next week. We’re talking. He says to me, ‘Luis, I want to do it because it’s the right thing. I don’t want to deal with it from a political point of view.’ I think that’s very, very encouraging,” Gutierrez said on MSNBC.

That's really good to hear. The President alone shouldn't lead for reform, it should be leaders in Congress from both parties. I highly doubt that they would pass something like the achieve act, I think it could be a good starting point to where the GOP could go from and meet democrats.

Paul Ryan for 2016! I think Paul Ryan is still young and has not been that much indoctrinated in Right Wing ideologies. If Romney would had won, Paul Ryan would had had probably to wait 8 more years to run. And Romney could had messed up his image. The important thing was that Paul Ryan got his name out.

I like the fact that Obama but I don't see any Democrats that I think are good choices, I think that Paul Ryan would be a good candidate for 2016

Whoa now, don't get too excited! LOL
Let's not forget his track record as running for VP, especially on women's rights.

It's a shame Paul Ryan had his head so far up his ass. He's a truly remarkable Congressman. He uses this thing that's often overlooked in Congress.... math.

Before we start showering praises upon Rep. Ryan, let's all do some research on his record. Between SS cuts, medicare/medicaid cuts, opposing Obamacare, and reproductive rights, etc. The list goes on and this guy is vying for the presidency in the 2016 election which working with Gutierrez will make him look better.

Let's all be rational about this and not pull a Rubio (which also is vying for 2016). Remain skeptical with a healthy dosage of criticism if need be.

Funny stuff.

Like JPerez said, Republicans know some type of immigration reform will be passed and they all want to attach their name to it now that they have seen the importance of the Latino Vote.

It's going to be interesting. I never thought Ryan and Gutierrez would sit down to talk about immigration...
