Its not a crazy place, but there are agents at bus terminals and airports. If you have an EAD I belive you are fine you can fly or drive out otherwise you may come in but will they let you out? :S

Anyways take care and let me know what's up! McAllen can be a nice little place, but when it comes to vacations its hard for us down here, its like a little country we can't leave.

I wouldn't travel out of McAllen to the U.S. interior without valid immigration documents.
UGH! I was hoping people would say its fine to just try it anyways, JK! LOL. Sigh. I gotta be optimistic. Yeah coming to McAllen is a lot easier than the rest of the USA. Here its 85% hispanic and 15% everything else so we blend right in, none the wiser its just when we need to get on a plane that I have my doubts.

I still have a few weeks before christmas, but unsuspecting people keep asking about my trip and to get hurry up and get some proper ID because we need to board that plane. :'( If only I could be open and honest, but I'm way too scared to be rejected by the person I love. Its really hard.

I don't envy you. You got three choices:
1. Stay by giving her a lame ass excuse, which would make you look like a wimp, and when the truth comes out later, a liar
2. Roll the dice and go, risking deportation if it's not your lucky day
3. Be honest about your (lack of) immigration status, and hope she loves you enough to accept it

Not all of Texas are crawling with CBP agents, only the border towns.

I told my Gf a little over a year ago about my status and she was fine with it, trust me to most people it's really not a big deal.. You only think its a big deal because you constantly think about it and are afraid to be judged.. She'll only reject you if shes a shallow hoe lol in that case you just dodged a bullet - dont tell her if you think she might try using it against you in the future though

Ok, it's settled, the TSA agent checking your ID at McAllen airport is accompanied by a CBP officer.
