For social security you need an actual EAD, you need to prove that you're eligible to work in order to receive a number, you also need to bring some secondary type of ID (passport, birth certificate, religious record, military record, school ID).

In regards to state IDs in few (only one I know of is Texas) States you technically could get a state ID with approval note for deferred action, however if you can't get a social you need to get a rejection notice, and since you got approved for DACA you will soon get a work permit, so it's probably just simpler to wait, get your social security number, and then apply for a state ID.

in texas all u need to get an id is: 2 mails with your name and address(bills) Ead, and take your school ID just in case. they dont need your ss or birth certificate. if you dont have your social tell them you applied for one and they'll have you sign an affidavit

Yes. Passport works fine too.

Here's a list of all documents that are acceptable:
EAD
and one of below:
  • Foreign Birth Certificate
  • Foreign Passport
  • US Military Record
  • US military ID card
  • Religious Record showing age or date of birth
  • US Drivers license
  • US State ID card
  • School record showing age or date of birth
  • School ID card
  • Copy of medical record

You might want to bring the following note with you (just in case a SSA worker gives you shit):
http://www.ssa.gov/pubs/deferred_action.pdf
