So do I wait 10days after getting approved from ead or from actually receiving the ead card? Also, my passport is expired, can I just bring my state id and.birth certificate? And I just fill out the ss5 form and bring it to ssa office right?

yes, your birth certificate, EAD and SS5 form should be sufficient. when i went in today to apply i only took my ead and passport, but the lady said i have to show a birth certificate if i have it. now if i had said i don't have a birth certificate then they would accept my passport only. i looked at her for a few seconds like "did you just hear yourself? you're making no sense". but there were a lot of people there so i just drove back home and got my birth certificate.
about the 10 day wait, some people say they didn't have to wait, others say it's better to wait. i got my ead yesterday and went to the ss office this am. they gave me a receipt and said i should receive my card in 2 weeks.

We are not legal aliens though. Daca doesn't confer any form of legal status so i just put other on mine.

It's been 2 weeks since my brothers applied for SS # (after 7 days of approval; with BC & EAD card) and they haven't received their card yet . They applied 1 day before I did. I got my card last week Friday. So they went to the local office and the lady attended my older brother, first. She checked the record and no number has been issued yet, she talked to the other staff and said how do you process it because he is a "suspect" (what the heck! "Suspect"?! - he has a very clean record, both passed background check; every docs submitted are legit & real ; is this some kind of code for DACA beneficiaries by haters to hold them up ). The other lady said, is that a "DACA" so my brother said "yes" . So the 2nd staff instructed the other employee how to proceed, and she asked for another ID with the bdate. She said to call on Wed to check if there's a number for him already so he can come back and get a printout. BTW, that ahole guy was on vacation last week and didn't call my brothers before his vacation if there's a need for more identification. So my advice is try to get a printout after 2 days (if u waited 7-10 days before applying for ss) & not wait for two or more weeks 'coz you may be waiting for nothing in the mail -- just to make sure or to verify the status of your application too.

^^^ Exactly. I went back in and THEN they printed out my "print out" with that same day's date on it. They just decide if they wanna do it or not, idk why. They also just made the order for my ss card that same day i had to go back, so imagine if i never went back and just sat there waiting.
Either way, my card made it to me yesterday. Off to the DMV i go today.
