So I recently applied to CSU's for Nursing but as I started reviewing their requirements for the nursing school (CSULB) they mentioned that they arent taking any AB540 students. I called and spoke to someone in the nursing program and she said it was because of the Board exam. Has anyone been able to pursue nursing in california?

Ive been waiting for my work permit...because they require a valid SS# In order to do a background check on u. Since the health care profession is very important, dealing with the health of the public requires an idividual with no record of any kind...besides i think thats how they check ur medical history as well.

i went through nursing school as an ab540 student. i went to csuf. at the time they were accepting ab540 students (i started back in 07) but i think now that has changed. i was able to take the board exams because i had a valid ssn. that's all you really need it for.

Thank you, I think thats what I'm going to have to do. I won't be done with my requirements until the end of spring semester so I was thinking of applying in August for Spring admissions hopefully by that time I have my SSN #. You havent began nursing school for that matter aswell?
Thanks for the response btw
