they don't ask for other SS #s you have used before right?

So im new to this thread and this is my problem,
i got a job this week (i know it was fast, im a little impatient. -_-)
anyway i applied for my ssn on monday 12/10
and now they need to do a background check
my question is has anybody that applied for ssn gotten it yet
and how long did it take?
im in the DFW area by the way...

Only real ones. Not fakes. But if you ever want to get ssn credits from fake numbers. You will need to take old w-2's to get them transferred.

A ssn can take anywhere from a week to a full month. It took me 3 weeks to get a number assigned to me and like 4.5 weeks to get the actual card.

Take them to the SSO?

Yes. Once you have received your ssn card. Go back some other day and take your old w-2's and they'll transfer your social security credits from fake to real.

I applied for my SSN the day after I received my EAD card on the mail. The lady working at the SS office was very efficient. I didn't even have to fill out anything. She was quick and told me I could go get a print out the next day and that I should b receiving my card on the mail within a week. I went back the next day and they had my number ready!! I did not have to wait ten days and neither did my brother and some friends.
