Hello Oklahomans!

I am here to clarify a few things. I also created this thread because there seemed to be a lack of Oklahoma info.

After you have been accepted and have your EAD card on hand here are a few ways to get your State ID / Drivers License / Permit / SSN.

Here is what I did.

SSN - Go to the SSA office on 47th and garnett with the EAD card and my passport on hand. After 7 business days my SS card was in the mail.

State ID/Drivers License - Took my EAD card and SS card. Lady asked me few questions like my weight/height, address (basic info) and that's it. The form had a few questions like place of birth and whether or not you're an Oklahoma resident. The form asks basic questions like if you have hearing problems or visual problems (i.e. glasses or glaucoma etc etc..) Took the written/visual/driving test that day. I went to the DPS at the East Metroplex Plaza (the former eastland mall)

Permit - I didn't get my permit, I went straight for license but I assume its the same process as above.

It was a fairly easy process...

BUT....

Your ID and Driver's License WILL says "TEMPORARY" in big bold red letters.
But hey! I'm not complaining, it's better than nothing!

I'll try to answer any questions.

But I believe if you were to renew the EAD before the two-years is up, you can get your ID and DL also renewed. As long as state laws remain the same as they are now.

But in Oklahoma, as current law states, an EAD is a good enough form of primary identification as long as you have a SSC

My sister has her ead but not from daca.. When you she first applied for a dl here in OK it didnt say temporary a year later when she renewed her ead ( hers is only valid for a year) she also renewed her license.. This time it did have the word temporary on it. could it vary depending on the person making your license??? She's renewed her dl like 3 times in the past 3 years and it wasn't until this year that they put the big red letters saying temporary.
