Hi, I need your advice. I am not sure if these questions have been asked already...

I live in Florida and driving with a Washington State Driver's License (I never lived in Washington, so I used a friend's address when I applied). I got approved for deffered action, and just received my Social Security card, should I apply for a new FL DL, or just transfer my Washington DL?

Any thoughts? If transferring is safe, does anyone have any experience with it, what is the process like? Thanks!

P.S. I have credit cards with my ITIN number, can I switch everything to my new SS#? The card says valid for work only...

What does transfer mean? Its illegal to own more than one DL I am not sure about IDs. Most state have laws about changing your address within certain days usually 30. I would keep the WADL as it doesn't have a temporary date or sign but if you get stopped my a police he might become suspicious

If you have made so far with your WA DL this fsr i dont see the need to switch it

You can use your SSN for anything other than obtaning federal benefits

Transfer means, transferring my DL from one state to another state, which is much simpler than acquiring a new license because it skips the driving tests. I've had my license for over a year.

I would prefer to transfer my DL to Florida, because it would lower my Insurance Premium.

But, since I never lived in Washington to begin with (used someone else's address at the time), is transferring my DL from Washington to Florida even safe? Could a FL DMV question an address I used in Washington over a year ago? Just trying to prevent any problems…

I know I cannot own multiple DLs. But if in my case, it is better to apply for a complete new FL license, I could just discard the other one.

I have Washington state DL license and mine doesn't expire till end of 2015 so I'm not gonna transfer state when I'll get my EAD and SSN. Oh yea I already got speeding ticket in TN and officer gave me verbal warning for transferring my DL to Tennessee. If your planning on transferring it is safe to do that.

Does your state have something about establishing residency first ? Most States don't count residency until you are lawfully or legally here. in Washington for example you can't get a DL unless you prove youve live here for 6 months.

Yes you can surrender that license to get Florida state license. Just go to DMV.

I don't think so. But, I can prove I've lived in FL for over 6 months.
