I mean, jeez, if something so uncontroversial is blocked by Republicans in the Senate, passing CIR would be really tough.
I agree. I honestly feel like it's 2008 all over again. I'll just be happy to get my DACA approved.

Do you realize how long they dragged this out for? Do we want it to happen? More than anything in the world.

Are we realistic about things? Yea, we are.

Just cause we're being realistic it doesn't make us any less of dreamers.. Last thing you want is to sit there getting your hopes up and nothing happens.. Like the way it's been for the last 10+ years

Hey Mlbu,It's kinda early for anyone to know that right now.The only thing we do know is that more than likely CIR will be attempted first before there is any afterthough of trying piecemeal afterwards.

I can guarantee that CIR will not pass unless it makes anyone who applies into a second class citizen...probably ban them from ever attaining citizenship or strip them of any benefits...it's all politics, the republicans know that if cir/da passes, the majority of the people who eventually become citizens will vote for the democrats...the gop does not what that all so they'll do anything to make sure that if they can't have those votes, no one will. I hope I'm wrong but since the GOP is a dying party which will soon have a leadership shake up (Boehner will probably lose his job in january) and perhaps a party civil war before the midterms. If anything, we'll see some stripped version of the DA, one with strict age limitations, perhaps similar to DACA, non-immigrant visa after another after another and then, maybe a decade later after initial application, a freaking green card. I at least hope they tweak the system, undo some of the stupid laws they passed in the late 90s that would prevent people from fixing their status in the country...one can hope i guess but I'm not too damn optimistic.

That is what I fear. If a CIR does pass, it WILL create a whole different class. States are already taking action and denying DACA applicants DL/IDs.

LOL. yeah considering it takes months/years to get bill passed. I would worry now considering 2 years will be gone before you know it.

I had high hopes until I read about the stupid Achieve Act and now Obama wants to put immigration reform on a back burner after they resolve the gun control bill. They are always looking for excuse to NOT grant us any status at all.

At least for now DACA will last for 4 yrs after that who knows but I speculate any president would be hard pressed to do away with it. Come on most likely we will be productive members of society on paper besides if the renewal fee is the same revenue is being generated on the state level and federal . Our Dl/ID are only good for 2yrs cha Ching . My thoughts only any other immigrant has been granted renewals so why not us...the uproar alone would wreck havoc

okay im gonna give it one last shot and explain this with apples and oranges..

the past election the people and most Hispanics picked an APPLE(democrats) as president and the ORANGES(republicans) were very disappointed cause the people didnt not want ORANGE juice. So in the midterm elections which are in 2014 the ORANGES(republicans) will do anything and everything to have the Hispanic vote or else they will loose again meaning we will see a change in immigration in less then two years unless the APPLES(democrats) flip flop or something.
