Well, if I knew that I would be in entry level forever, I wouldn't apply in the first place..

In order to be the part of a "big deal," we have to do what our boss ask us to do so let's say in about 6 years from now when I'm an associate, when my boss tells me to go to London and meet a client next week, do I apply for Advance Parole and then tell him to wait 3 months until DHS approves it?

Hopefully by then, this renewed immigration focus will bear some fruit. Fingers crossed.

If the status quo persists, then it will definitely be difficult. If you provide enough value to the firm, they'll likely keep you on domestic deals only and maybe some in-house support on foreign ones. It's tough to gauge even with an approved AP because your stay overseas may be longer than originally planned, or you may end up going outside the realm of your AP allowance. It's risky.

I want to get into banking as well. but as someone said, not easy to get into at all. Not to mention the job itself makes the worker feel miserable. I just want to get into it for exit opportunities.

Commercial or investment? Yes, IB hours are ruthless. Typical analyst day is about 18-19 hours, and be ready for all-nighters if you've been pulling support duty on a deal.

Investment. Yeah I heard about those crazy hours. I just want to do something that my parents can be proud of me for.

I'm not sure IB is something you go into if only to make your parents proud. It's a fantastic and rewarding career, but you have to have a serious, serious passion about it. The money helps, too.
