Being "illegal" does not prevent me or anyone from having an opinion. You guys really need to get your heads out of the oppressed mindset, because that's what "we don't count" mindset is.

And MDxOD, I'm not understanding what you meant.

Furthermore, you guys know how crazy white people get about their guns so I'm pretty sure the last thing that they want to hear/read is how "illegal aliens" want to take their guns away or how much "illegals" love owning assault riffles. They know how to use computers, just saying...
Seriously? You're acting like we're voting on this in Congress or something. Besides not all 'white people' are gun fanatics. Just like not all 'illegals' are real criminals.

And I'm sorry but I do think we should care about this issue as well. It's something that affects us all who live here. Unfortunately being undocumented does not protect us from shootings.

Of course we count as human beings but in reality our opinions don't matter in this specific subject. Our suggestions on what should happen in this country as far as gun control goes matters as much as much as our suggestion on how many eggs a chicken should have in Indonesia. We aren't registered voters here nor there so what we want isn't taken into consideration. It is not being submissive it is just being plain realistic. Once we are allowed to vote it is game on.

We can still talk about it though since we have that freedom given to us by the Constitution you know if we want to. Oh and we could help others try and convince people (which would probably be really hard) just like we asked voters to vote with us dreamers in mind.

It's like we are butting in on a conversion that we clearly don't belong in. Walk up to a random person and tell him that their way of dressing is horrible and then give him your opinion on how he should dress. Let me know how that goes.

This is exactly what I'm talking about. How else would the DREAM proposals, or for that matter, DACA have come to be if it wasn't people having opinions and voicing them to others.

Most people that are citizens know of Dreamers' stories and support them because we voice our opinions and campaign. This can happen for any other issue, and what's more, I think some of us, like Mexican immigrants or others that have emigrated to escape extreme violence in their own countries have a unique perspective that should be heard.

Democracy's manifestation is not only about votes.

Dream act, DACA, CIR these are issues that involve "us" so of course we are going to voice our opinions. A proposed bill to import a million gallons of SPF 70, not so much. America has a long history of not tolerating outsiders opinions on internal affairs. Just saying.

Mhm this is something that should matter to all of us. Yes we can't vote but we can talk about it and express how we feel towards it. I think that it's good if we involve ourselves the most we can (which is just talking) it would be good for our community and our nation as a whole. It shows we care about what occurs here and are not only thinking about the DREAM Act or CIR or DACA. And just because we live here therefore it does affect us. But if someone doesn't want to voice their opinion on the matter then that's fine. Do what makes you comfortable. But remember growth begins at the end of your comfort zone.
