I do respect your opinion but I respectfully disagree with it as well. There is no reason why we can't be civil about it though.
I've been here since 1990. But, your the one that made the selective reading comment first. Don't be an spectator dude. Be part of the movement. Nothing will get changed unless we are involved neither this or CIR. I understand wanting to concentrate energy on CIR/DACA/DREAM but we need to discuss it too. It really complex. Unless you voice opinions and ideas. They won't get out there. You think we are a small grain in the sand but we still exist.

I've been here since 1989. I guess I understand where you are coming from and you have a point. If this is an issue that moves you then by all means go for it and fight for it. This is just one of those hot button issues like immigration, abortion, and religion that people get all weird about. No disrespect to you on my behalf tough.

So, your 24?? Well of course they get all weird about. This place is for discussing issues, sharing ideas, and just passing time. Just because we don't have status doesn't mean we can't be part of the discussion. I care about gun control but I care more about us understanding that we are part of the American Democratic process. I think we need to prepare ourselves emotionally for next year. Because it will be rough.

Yeah I'm 24. You're right but I still feel as we should get not get so involve to the point that we become stressed, angry, sad, etc. because at the end of the day we can't do the most important part of the democratic process which is vote. Believe me I always keep an eye on all of the current issues because after all I am a political science major so it all fascinates me, but I try not to get all stressed out about it. You do have some very valid points though.

Yes, it is about us. If you want to be a citizen of this country I think you have to care a little more about what is going on. Just because the dude shot a school full of mostly white children it doesn't mean we shouldn't care.

Telling my brothers that they should go vote is not depriving them of their own opinion. I think they saw how important is is for us Latinos to vote this last election. It just proved my point. My brother was going to vote for Roseanne but because his sister is undocumented voted for Obama. You need to educate yourself on the democratic process more. It is not just the ballot that counts.
I agree. I also have USC siblings and they have seen my struggle and because we are family they will try to help me as much as they can and so will I. They're lived this struggle with me and understand my situation. They would never support an individual that could seperate us from each other. That's what family does right?

You're anti guns...haha jk.

No it's not about banning all guns and taking them away from people. Gun freaks and 2nd Amendment lovers think that we liberals want to take away their guns. That is not true. I have no problem if someone wants to own a handgun, or hunting arms as long as that person is sane and has gone through background checks. I do have a problem with people who want to own assault rifles and things like that because I don't understand why in the world they would need that. Another thing that should also be discussed is security in schools. These types of things have occured in schools too much and something has to be done about that as well.

Maybe you should read the Second Amendment again?

Owning guns is not about shooting Bambi, it's about protecting the people from a tyrannical government.

I don't care why people want ARs (as long as they're not killing other people), but in principle they should have the right to.

Oh I've read it. I also like to keep in mind the date in which it was written...since it's not like it was written recently.

Let's also keep in mind that we may have those rights but they can be taken away if others are getting hurt or being deprived of their own rights.
