it all depends in what state you are. I was able to get a driver's license with EAD as proof of identity along with my social security card. Other states have different laws and requirements.

Legal presence people. Deferred Action is legal presence not legal status. Some people have lots of trouble splitting the two terms apart.

Anyways here in NY employment authorization document is a proof of "date of birth" which only valid US immigration documents satisfy, and it's worth 3 points for proof of name. Social security card is 2 points of proof of name and the only acceptable proof of social security number. Then you just need 1 point in proof of name (like a debit card, bank statement, HS diploma, GED, College ID with transcript, HS ID with report card, etc).

Bro we are not illegal anymore, at least not in the same situation we were before June 15th. When have you seen an illegal immigrant hold an EAD/SSN/License? We are just not lawful permanent residents.
