So I chilled the rest of December since it was last few weeks of the year enjoying my last few weeks as a kid playing Black Ops 2..haha...but now is when shit gets real! I just finished high school, looking for a job. I got my ssn and ead, but no id or dl since Alabama is racist as fuck!!!!! lol. Well the point is that online is kinda hard to apply since our ssn's are to new to be valid, therefore they wont let me continue the online application since my "ssn" is invalid. I'm just looking for retailers, restaurants, nothing fancy. Whats the best way? To just walk into the store? Pls help I need a job quickk!

Yeah pretty much. Look at postings and see what is being offered. And pretty much, go a store and asked if they are hiring. its YOUR necessity to get a job not theirs.

You know what is a good job for high school graduates?

Bank teller. They are always hiring, plus good wages and benefits.

"fast" way. there's no shortcut in this economy kid. you've gotta be proactive and you certainly can't have the attitude of looking for shortcuts. some people on here are still looking. and there are americans out there unemployed.

my advice: if you have no experience, volunteer. create a resume. look at newspapers, pennysaver, monster, etc. go into every business you pass by and ask if t hey are hiring. bank tellers are good jobs for high school students. but you've gotta be open to less favorable positions that require a little sweat like fast food, janitor, grocery stores, etc. you just missed the seasonal positions during christmas and thanksgiving! use your networks. ask your friends who have jobs to keep an eye open for a position for you. if i were you i would literally call every single place you are interested in and ask if they are hiring, when they will be hiring, and how you can apply. and then KEEP calling them every week or so to see if there have been any openings. waiters make great tips, try restaurants.

the key is to be persistent, be proactive, and not have the mindset that something will fall on your lap easily. goodluck!

I looked over driver license requirements in Alabama, it looks like you should be able to get a drivers license using your passport + ead + social security card + another secondary.
Primary:
Valid Foreign Passport with a valid United States Immigration Document
Secondary (non-citizens):
EAD + Social Security Card
Secondary (all):
Selective service card
School ID
School transcript (certified)
HS diploma
GED
(additional secondary is recommended, just in case they decide to count passport + ead + ssc as one document)

Go to a DMV in area that's not absolute hicksville. If all else fails, just get the license from another state.

v Sure they are always hiring, but who wants to be a McSlave without looking for something better first.

It's easier getting a job once you have a job. So if you can't find something off the bat, yeah take a job at McDonalds/Burger King another fast food place and apply to other places at night. I worked at McDonald's in high school and I learned skills working there that I still use today.

Agreed with the poster that said volunteering to get skills/meet new people/spruce of your resume. Good luck!
