I just got hired as a hostess at a restaurant. My friend works there and she's leaving soon for two weeks so they needed someone to fill in her spot. She referred me and I started. Did the paperwork and had no problems. So far it's okay. Not sure how to feel about it but seeing as to how it's been difficult to find a job ill stick with it until I find something else. It's my first job so I can't wait to see my first paycheck

Hi, everyone, I wonder if anyone is going to apply for a job in companies that would sponsor him or her to get citizenship, similar to the international student or F1 student that works for big companies and they got sponsored and status got legalized. I mean I understand having the EAD means we can work legally and that it can be renewed, but my goal is ultimately to get legalized with my status. Any thoughts??

It's up to the company if they want to go through the process and if you're eligle for adjustment of status

I've applied at a lot of jobs online, and still no luck. I'm still a minor attending high school though.

I.thought about this. But if youve been out of status for than months/years, u have to.go back.to your.home country and get the 10year banned to.change st atus..unless, youre.going to marry an American.citizen.

Congrats! I'll be starting my job soon. I'm just grateful for having this opportunity & can't wait for my first pay check.

Well, I have really bad luck. I have filled several applications and so far only two called back. But they didn't hired me. I think it's because I have no job experience. It's been almost three months since I was approved and I feel like I'm just wasting time sitting, waiting for a call back.

Well, I have heard the same recommendations from numerous attorneys, that in order to get legalized, options are: 1) amnesty/change of law 2) sponsorship from company 3) get marry. Well, we all can see how long it takes our government to do work, right? I mean, I am glad about the deferred action and would love to see further changes but still it's pretty unclear when the law would change. Regards to marriage, well, not happening yet, at least for me. That's why I thought if we are granted this wonderful opportunity to work legally, what about company's sponsorship? I mean, I think now it's getting harder to do such process but it's not impossible. That's why I asked if anyone has this experience or am thinking about it.
