Quick update my sister got her letter stating she is here "legally" and we went to the dmv and lucky brat she got her self a 7 year ID card. Im thinking it depends on the person that helps you at the office. She say a hispanic guy helped her and im glad he did im pretty sure he knew how she got a permit and decided to give her the full 7 years ID. Theres still some kind people in this world...

i went thru this, the dps worker told me that their system is linked with immigration went i first went they couldnt verify my status or that my status said pending still, i had to wait for a letter from austin then i got my ID, its not the dps fault sometimes our status r not updated right away, also once u get ur EAD card in tx u dnt need ur social to get a ID or DL
