I'm rather young(19) and a sophomore at a Cal State, perhaps this information helps you:

When I was in high school, I took some courses at a community college for fun, well when I registered I provided them with a fake social security number. Three years later, my senior year in high school I considered returning to that same community college to pursue my degree. Unfortunately this time around I didn't qualify for the reduced tuition fee as I was no longer a high school student and thus had to file AB540. Upon registration I encountered some problems because the community college had a fake social on file and they questioned how could I be applying for AB540 knowing that I had a social and thus a legal status. I simply told them that I never had a social and I wasn't sure why that number was on file. They removed the social without a problem and applied for AB540. I ended up going to a Cal State and never returned to that community college.

Two years later, now a sophomore in college, I reconsidered returning to that initial community college to take some courses that would transfer towards my degree at Cal State and finish earlier. Now with a social under DACA, I recently returned to the community college to provide them with my real social.

I strongly believe that if you go to your school's office and inform them that it appears like they have the wrong social on system they should be able to update it. Simply explain them any feasible reason, such as obtaining a new social due to whatever reason(theft, ect) or just typing in the wrong social when filling in their application. You were young and perhaps your parents gave you, your brother's social instead of yours. By law they need to update the social with a valid one given to YOU. By the way, I also provide my Cal State with my social which they updated immediately without questions as they never had one on file for me.

I hope my long story helps - Good luck!

I know this thread is old but I didn't want to start a new one to ask this question.

I applied to a CSU with my new social but when I started community college back in 06 i did the same thing as OP. Now whenever I log into my old community college student portal it says I'm a USC. Question is, how do I go about getting the GPA confirmation from my old school? Do I just show up and have them change my social or do I have them just fill out the non-ssn GPA confirmation required for the CA Dream Act?
