I love your avatar photo I think it's called..I'm not all up to date on the forum lingo haha. I wish I could see a larger photo!

As far as hiding my status goes, I never tell anyone unless I have to. My boyfriend and my boss know, but that's about it. All my close friends have never asked because they either get it or don't think it's that important to ask about it.

My two best friends know about it. But my co-workers have no idea. I can't trust them with my personal info. They see me as one of them because I have a job at a law firm. I have a car that i drive, but without a license obviously lol and I have credit cards. In their mind they know that no one that is illegal would have such things. Some of them are nice people and others are ignorant.

I always, always, always (<----- get it?) hid it.

When I would go out with my friends to clubs, I always went in last or was the first one there just so I wouldn't have to go in with them. No one ever really asked or suspected anything. I guess most people assume that if you grew up here you have everything they do.

I still won't tell anyone about it now. Not unless they absolutely need to know, which I don't think anyone really does.

Why would you go in first or last? I would too, cause I'd have my matricula or passport for verification (or sometimes my hospital card that has my name and birthdate, along with my school ID).

as long as they don't judge you because of your status then go ahead. if they start talking smack then just punch them in the throat n move on.

I told a few friends and they have been the most supporting people about it. One of them actually told me that she would marry me to help me out but since im ewi it wouldn't have made a difference . I can't wait until I get daca so I can blast it on my facebook to show my other friends who have misconceptions of people like us, that we're no different than they are. Maybe it'll change their minds.

I only hid it when I just graduated high school. I had just learned of my status and I was embarrassed. Everyone was wondering why I didn't go off to the police academy or military like everyone expected. I would just say police work wasn't for me after all. Big lie! 5 years as a police explorer building relationships and networking to insure a spot in my city's department wasted! wa wa.. its cool, Im over it.

Now I don't hide it but it never comes up in conversation and no one has ever asked me. Only a few close friends know and that's cause I told them. No one else even has a clue because its not obvious. People don't picture people like me or all of us here as being illegal. They have an image of all illegals being poor, working in fast food and not speaking fluent english...
