Hello I'm new to this forum. I tried searching but couldn't find the answer to my questions so sorry in advance if this has been posted already.

I applied for deferred action early and on September 6 my case was received. My current case status is Initial Review. I got my bio-metrics done in October. I follow every instruction exactly and provide copies of everything they asked for. I even had a lawyer overlook it and okay it, all the requirements were there.

The only problem is in 2011 I was stopped twice for driving w an expired license. One was under 4 months and the other was over 6 months. Got the first one thrown out and was actually arrested for the latter, I was released went to court and paid off everything.

I have called USCIS and they have told me they don't need anything else from me and that my case is just pending and all I can do is wait. Should take between 4-6 months. Well just now in January it has officially been 4 months.

I know these traffic stops shouldn't be a problem and don't disqualify me at all but I see a lot of people around me being approved (even that applied after me!) and I cant help but feel a little uneasy. I wanted to see if maybe anybody on here had been approved with expired dl stops or any other misdemeanor on their records? Is there any suggestions you might have?

Many people, including myself, have been approved with worse charges. The only suggestion I have is to keep waiting. There are a lot of people who filed in August who are still waiting also. There are many other things other than a criminal record that can make your case take longer.

Don't worry. I got 2 tickets for driving with expired license. I paid everything and there was no problem with it. Don't worry until you receive something from USCIS. btw, i am from CA.
