So I just got approved on jan 14
So today I went to apply for a social security and the lady was rude and mean. She said she was going to record me and I must answer some question truthfully under perjury or something like that.
She asked me if I have ever applied for food stamps or any help. And my bday and where I was born. Any of u guys dealt with the same questions? Is this normal?

Umm, no. You should complain or something. That's definitely not normal.

Yeah, I did. Don't worry, it's normal. I felt the same way, but then after it was done, she was really nice. They just need to be professional and stick to script I suppose. I got my social today! I went last Wednesday, and it came today already. Really fast considering yesterday was a federal holiday..

The fuck?
Where the hell did you guys go to get the SSN? Why did they record you? When I went, all I did was fill out a form, and just showed the lady there my EAD and passport and I was on my way out.

They didnt do that where I went. The lady barely spoke. It only took about 4 minutes.

The part where they tell you they are going to record you, I've never heard of, but they do ask you if you have ever received food stamps or benefits.

If they have cameras there or microphones at the SSA, then it most likely wasn't discrimination and they record often. Don't worry about it though, it varies from SSA to SSA.

Record you? There cameras in every corner. She only told you in case you didn't pay attention of them when you went in.

That's what I'm worried about. I noticed on the SSN application it ask you if you're a Citizen, Legal Alien Able to Work, Legal Alien Unable to Work, or other...which one did you guys choose? Are we Legal Aliens able to work, or other? As in deffered childhood arrivals(not legal or illegal) able to work?
