hey guys i just tried to get a DL in Wilmington NC and i passed the test but they said that DMV hasnt approved for us to get them so hopefully next week but after getting DACA im tired of the waiting game and the Attorney General of NC said it was ok for us to get them now DMV has to say its ok (which it theyre just ignorant) about it. but in case you get pulled over or get into an accident go to court and file a lawsuit against the NC DMV for not legally letting you get a DL which you will most likely win since we are legal and according to the law we have all the documents necessary to obtain a DL in NC. Thats my approach about this issue with this disgusting state full of ignorant ppl SMH.

No worries though, it will be reinstated because it makes no sense to give someone an EAD and not allow them to drive (the guy at the DMV basically said the same thing). Its just a matter of time!

Many are the plans of man but only God's plans (OF PROVISION!!!) will prevail!
amen!!!

Wow, that's just ridiculous -__-
By the way, I heard that the Wilmington PD got a grant and apparently there are cops at Wrightsville Beach now who can tell whether or not you have a license and will pull you over. So be very careful if you or anyone you know has to drive around that part of town :/

@AMemoryRemains thanks for the heads up and thats definitely discrimination because how would they know? i have tons of friends that are latino with papers and DL that go to WB all the time. And my fiancé and I go there for Salsa dancing socials every other week, and where we go hang out at the beach and surf. This is ridiculous. As a side not for who ever reads this I'm going to be working with the NC ACLU and possibly suing the NCDMV because its not right for them to deny us our DL since we are LEGAL now. We need our DL to work and go to school.

No problem, man. I wish I knew how the heck they can even figure out if we have licenses but it just sucks that my parents won't be able to drive around there anymore. And the NC DMV is just being fucking ridiculous at this point. I mean, the Attorney General already gave them the okay to issue licenses to DACA holders--what more do they want? -___-

There's gonna be a protest at the NC Department of Transportation today, as well as a call-in session, in case you or anyone else is interested. Here's some info on the event:
