It kinda works guys. So, don't hate unless you're participating in alternatives to protesting.

I didn't see the part where this guy said he was influenced by the disruption of a formal event.

You're also setting up a strawman's argument - the strawman being that we're against protesting. That is not true. You can have peaceful rallies, marches, and otherwise show you want change without coming across as a jackass. That's not what these idiots did. They interrupted a formal event on the topic of whether "law breakers" and people who "don't follow the rules" deserve to get a break and whether after a bill is passed they will "follow the rules" and then right in the middle of all that, they gave us all a bad name by breaking the rules of the hearing.

You want alternatives?

Write your congressman and Senators explaining that you want to be part of the US and unfortunately have no legal recourse to do that and CIR and/or Dream Act would be good for both the country and yourself. If you have DACA, you're here with some legal status for the moment so you should have have any fear of writing them.

Writing a letter isn't cool enough for you? Organize a peaceful rally or march that doesn't hurt your cause.

Above all else, if you don't want to do something to help the cause, for F@&k's sake, don't do something to hurt the cause - ie. break the law.

There's always a time and place for everything. This was DEFINITELY NOT one of them! -_-

I also didn't see the part where he said it had a negative impact on his opinion of us. We already agreed that it wasn't the right chant or the right time. I have written plenty of letters dude and your setting up a slippery slope argument. All I'm saying is calm down is not a big fucking deal. Is a bigger deal if some fool with DACA gets arrested for murder. Now that you do not want.

This is a big deal because it's a slippery slope. Next time they'll do something even more stupid. I'll disagree with you regarding it not having had a negative effect. It has. Once it made it to major news sites, any sympathy someone on the fence might have had for us disappeared. But yeah, I'm glad they didn't murder anybody there. If that's the standard we have to have for ourselves then they did great.

Hahaha. No it is not. did you have something against them being arrested in Arizona a couple of years ago? How about the sit ins at congressional offices? I mean they managed to negotiate DACA. Do you think that was given to us out of the kindness of their hearts. hell NO! It takes both front office work, back office work, and this types of things. Letters are made into scratch paper. They only tally you if you belong to their congressional office. That is why it is important for people in midwest states to write letters.

Wait, you want to give these idiots credit for DACA? The biggest reason for this talk about CIR and the Dream Act is that the immigrant community finally had the balls to get out and vote and vote Democrat. That's it. Sure there is the sympathy card too but it sure as hell wasn't for idiots protesting during hearings.

With some things in life, it takes years and years to build up to something but only a minute to completely destroy it. You seem to be taking this a little too personally though so I have to wonder if you are part of the group or were actually one of the people who did this.

They will definitely do something like this again. Arguing here will not change anything. They are like in the front line of the movement, while it is argued here in the internet forum, where they will not see it.

FlyinAgainstTheWind seem to know some background about DACA. I believe UWD did a lot of work trying to get DACA passed.

We voted democrat last election too. Please point out where I seem like I'm taking it to personal. These idiots do deserve credit for DACA. How and why do you think it was signed?I don't think it was this group in particular. They are UWD and I think based on twitter accounts it sound like it was immigrant week in D.C. I just don't like it when people bag on others. I think it is all good. It obviously didn't have any negative effect on Issa. Have you ever actually testified for a bill or gone to your state capitol to lobby? I have tried all 4 things-letter writing, in person lobbying, protests/marches, and testifying. It is all energy and it takes all to get something passed.

UWD has actually received heat from other groups from not being as front of the line as them. I was really surprised it was them actually. There was tons of background door work done for DACA. It wasn't that all of a sudden people thought we were good and innocent.
