How were people here able to go to top universities without a social and or financial aid?

Were you able to get some kind of loan or something

I applied for private scholarships and worked my ass off to pay for it. I went to a public school for undergrad. For grad, the private school gave me a full ride.

Yeah basically you tell them you're illegal and get a full ride.

If you have top grades and top gpa. Look into Stanford or Harvard. They will give you a free ride if you fall within a certain income category. But you will need top grades & SAT scores.

otherwise CC is a cheaper option.

I graduated with an average GPA from HS, and still managed to obtain 20K + from private scholarships. I also got full tuition for a certificate in CNC machining and another for Welding.

At this point, I have an associates of science and about to graduate as a Biomedical Engineer from UH.

There are a lot of scholarships out there, that many people don't even apply for. Apply for all scholarships you can find, even if you don't meet their requirements but make sure you write a good essay and truly explain your situation. Being a dreamer has been a big scholar advantage for me.

There are a lot of options out there, go find them!

When I graduated from high school there was 0 aid for us. If you are coming in now you have way more scholarship opportunities and financial aid. So, please go for it. If we did it with very little you can do it.

you have to try to get scholarships from organizations that don't ask for a social. the scholarships are out there, just have to look for them.
