Damn! last time I ever ask a goddamn question on here haha. I didn't mean in general what is an SSN for, I know what it's for! I thought SSNs were only for people with legal status that's why I was confused.

What if I *was* some 16 y/o and thought oh okay I can just go work now when that's not the case. I meant that I found it strange that I just got the EAD with no instructions on what else to do. Had I never come on this website I would've never known that we were allowed to apply for one. I thought we just had to show the EAD as far as working purposes.

Lol u took a beating there. Anyways everyone who gets an ead is allowed to apply for an ssn. In the case of people born here, the hospital makes a request for the baby and the card is later delivered in the mail along with a birth certificate. Anyways if you didn't know so much, you can google all about it and learn the history behind it as well as its used.

Asshole are like assholes, everybody has one. As we said you need a SSN for everything. Especially work. If I'm not mistaking I think there's a mention on SSN on the approval letters.

There isn't. At least not on mine. Nor is it mentioned in the letter the EAD came with.

I could of swear that I saw something about SSN eligibility on one of them papers. Did you filled out the application by yourself or used a lawyer?
