I feel like Cali service center is slowing down. Congrats to the many Nebraska approvals!!

My sister got approved today! She applied on November 13th and did Bios in December. Nebraska service center. I'm still under initial review and applied on Oct 22nd. feeling happy and sad at the same time.

hello everyone! I'm new to this but I figured since I've been waiting for almost 3 months, I'd get a feel for how long its been taking everyone else. It really does seem like California has slowed down quite a bit. I figure its from the holidays but it's hard being patient! I'm just greatful that something finally passed/happened that can help us out! Hopefully the Obama Amnesty passes as well! Good luck everyone and congrats to those who have been approved already!

Just got approved today, there's no reason why I should make a new post just to say I'm approved thus why I am posting here.

To be honest it wasn't fast nor slow, just average. 2 months after biometrics.

I'd appreciate everyone's guidance/opinion.

Live in Cali. Hired a lawyer. She said it was sent to the lockbox in November. She said its at the California Service Center where she's working with an immigration officer with my case since its complicated.

However... I never received email/text notification or letter receipts from the lockbox. I called the 1800 number a couple times and my name is never found when they do a computer search. I sent an inquiry on my money order and it was never cashed.


I'd hate not to trust my lawyer, because she's really nice.

But it's just really strange.

Has this happened to anyone else?

This is definitely sketchy.

The check I sent with my application was cashed within 2-3 days of when the application was delivered, and you should have received a letter with your receipt number within 1-3 weeks, confirming that USCIS received your application. The fact that USCIS can't even find you in their database is strange, and the fact that she claims that she's working DIRECTLY with someone for your case seems unlikely.

There's a small chance that the information was sent to your lawyer instead of you, so I would suggest that you ask the lawyer if she has case numbers for the status of your application or I-797C letters from USCIS confirming receipt of the applciation. If she can't provide them, demand your money back from her.
