I realized it was March 2nd. Am I pretty much screwed out of any money by submitting my app late?

Maybe but I would still submit an application ASAP. Then sometime in August or September contact your school's financial for a status update,

In Texas you can submit it after the deadline, but it takes way longer for it to be processed and they make you pay for your classes first. If you get any financial aid, they just refund you your money.
Maybe in California it is the same, just submit it and hope for the best.

You can still submit it, and they WILL review it.

Submitting it after the deadline means that you aren't getting first dibs on the money. Whatever left over they have after distributing it to those that submitted it on time, will be dispersed to you.

I don't think so. Theres like an extended deadline. Until August, well at least for the regular cal grant.
