I'm scared! I got RFE'd. Has anyone gotten declined because of it?

I thought I've put my application together in a very well rounded way, everything from receipts and original documents included (some minor originals). Then 3 weeks after doing the BIO, I get a...

"We mailed a notice requesting evidence/information for this case to you or your representative. Please follow the instructions on the notice to submit the material requested. This case will be held in suspense until we either receive the evidence/information or the opportunity to submit it expires. A new processing period will begin when we receive your response. You or your representative will be notified by that office of a decision or if any further information or action is needed from you."


I think I have a fault because I've never really stated my whole income. I've been receiving a W-2 contract salary from my temp but I never really bothered stating the income I got from it. I just included my salary from recycling and other free-lance, like helping out in grooming...

I know it's a bit late and the RFE threads I'm trying to look for are all buried but what should I be expecting for an RFE mail?

Which categories do they ask the most? Like, more info of a certain year or more bank statements?

What if I do not have a single file for that time period? Will it be sufficient enough just to call up UCIS or let them notify: "I do not have this" in a reply mail?

To those who got RFE'd, what did you have to do?
