being approved for DACA still doesnt mean that you can leave the country and come back. for that you would need to apply for AP and hope it gets approved.

and like everyone else has said, once you leave the US (DACA approved or not) you will be banned from 3 to 10 years. which means that if you are DACA approved and did not apply for AP, your DACA is now invalid.

You leave before DACA is approved: You abandoned the petition, and it will be denied once it comes onto someone's desk.
You leave after DACA is approved but before Advance Parole is approved: You abandoned your deferred action.
You leave after DACA and Advance Parole are approved: You keep your deferred action, CBP doesn't have to let you back into US however, so leaving is not recommended unless you have some sort of a plan B.

If you accrued less than 180 days of illegal presence then you have no re-entry ban.
Between 180 and 364 days of illegal presence (counting your 18th birthday as day 1) is a 3 year ban.
365 days and above is a 10 year ban.

Time spend in DACA, and if you were under 18 when you filed also time it was pending (only if it actually gets approved), does not count as illegal presence for purposes of 3 and 10 year bans.

Even if you do not get banned, or the ban runs out it is extremely unlikely you will ever receive a non-immigrant visa (with possible exception of dual intent visas). So you can't be a visitor, or a student in US, you might be able to get a work visa like H-1B, or H-2B, or L-1, you will be able to obtain a green card if you qualify (ex. work or family member petitions for you).

If you want to go, then go, no one is holding you in US, but keep in mind that once you step out you're most likely not getting back in, ever.

Only you can decide what is best for you. But pretty much everyone else has covered it.

To specify, though, if you leave within 180 after turning 18, and leave, you incur a 3 year ban from returning to the US (legally.)

If you can help it, try not to leave. I was set to leave July 2012, a month before DHS and the white house announced DACA. Stick around till the CIR vote. It will be voted on this year. The white house has made it clear that a vote will happen, congress will decide what happens from there on.

Is it really that necessary to leave? Because if you do there are consequences attached. The choice is yours but I think you should stay. Then again we do not know the full story.

Yes, there are ways around it legally, but they're so esoteric and difficult that it's basically a "not coming back" for all intents and purposes.

Are you and your entire family going back to Mexico? If so, I think you'll be happy there. But if you are the only one going back, think about it because you might regret it in the future. I always hear about people wanting to come back and not being able to. But, when one of my friends and her family decided to go back, she was happy and ok with it. So she never regretted her decision. Now this family is happy to be back with la abuelita and the rest of the family.

What are you gonna study there? Why not study here? Do you know how much international students pay to live and study here? Some of my friends are international students, they are rich kids. When I hear about all the money they are paying to get THE SAME education I'm getting I feel lucky.

I know this might sound stupid, but maybe you should make a pros and cons list... Because once you go back, forget about coming back for at least a decade...

You don't like it here so just go. I don't get why you applied in the first place. There's people waiting for their bio appointments and someone could of had yours! Ugh, I had a bad day.

just wait for the drimac! (dream act). Im sure that by the end of this year we will be rocking green cards ...then you can go to mexico, try it out, and if you decide it's better for you here, you can just come back. It's worth the wait

Are you aware that if you leave the country, you could possibly have problems if you want to travel abroad once in mexico? Say perhaps canada or other countries that require mexican citizens to apply for a visa? I heard this but im not 100% sure, someone correct me if im wrong!
